Let's hear it for the girls

My neighbor found out she has breast cancer and is going in for a double mastectomy this week. I made this cake for her family dinner before the surgery. She's being an optimist, saying she's always wanted to lift "the girls", and now she can. We kept the cake PG rated for the swarms of kids around both our houses.
Inside this cake is red velvet. Oh my goodness, it was SO good I wanted to keep the cake and eat it all myself lol. But then what kind of a neighbor would I be?
